Young’s List is delighted to welcome Andrew Blunt, who signed the Victorian Bar Roll on 21 October 2021.
Andrew practices in construction law, commercial law, equity, public law, and white-collar crime.
Prior to coming to the Bar, Andrew was a Senior Associate in the Projects and Construction Group at Maddocks working on various types of commercial and public law (including security of payment) disputes arising out of major renewable energy, road, gas, utility, IT, manufacturing, and residential projects. He specialises in disputes involving delay and disruption, complex issues of contract and tort, unjust enrichment, fraud, misrepresentation, estoppel, and the Australian Consumer Law.
Andrew first practiced at Australian Government Solicitor across a broad range of public law, commercial law, regulatory (including civil penalty), and common law matters for the Commonwealth. In that role, he regularly appeared as a solicitor-advocate in various Courts and tribunals, including in several reported cases.
As a solicitor, Andrew conducted proceedings across all Federal and Victorian courts, including in the High Court and courts of appeal, and Federal and State tribunals. He also has substantial arbitration experience, both in a domestic and international setting.
Andrew also has experience, and an interest, in white-collar crime.
Andrew has a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne. He also holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons).
