Sam practises primarily in commercial and public law. He has a broad practice including corporate and commercial disputes, insolvency, building and construction, class actions, arbitration, insurance and property disputes. Sam also accepts briefs in white collar crime and proceeds of crime litigation.

Sam is regularly briefed to advise and appear in all Victorian courts and tribunals, and in mediations.

Before coming to the Bar, Sam worked at Slater and Gordon Lawyers where he gained experience with securities class actions brought against multinational and publicly listed companies, as well as a mass tort proceeding against a statutory corporation. He was also Associate to his Honour Judge Cosgrave (now the Honourable Justice Cosgrave).

Sam holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Arts (with first class honours) from the University of Melbourne. As part of his Juris Doctor, Sam developed a particular interest in cross-border disputes and private international law. He also holds a Diploma of Languages and is fluent in French, and studied at the Université de Paris-II (Panthéon-Assas) as part of his Juris Doctor.

Sam is a member of the Victorian Bar Arbitration Committee.

Sam read with Dr Charles Parkinson KC and his senior mentor was Robert Craig KC (now the Honourable Justice Craig).
