Alex commenced her practice in Victoria at Mallesons Stephens Jacques (now King & Wood Mallesons) working on the State of Victoria’s claim against the auditors of Tricontinental and the SBV. From there she worked at a number of firms, including Deacons (now Norton Rose Fulbright) with increasing focus on professional liability and insurance claims (particularly construction).  

Alex practises in the commercial sphere with particular interest in professional negligence, liability, environmental and building claims. She was seconded to a financial institution and undertook asset recovery work for that institution. She is experienced in all forms of ADR, particularly mediation.

Alex also regularly appears at VCAT in the Building and Property, Review and Regulation, Legal Practice and Civil Claims Lists.  Co-monitor of the CommBar insurance and Professional Negligence Section.

Alex is a recommended insurance junior barrister in Doyle's Guide 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.  Alex is also a recommended construction and infrastructure junior barrister in Doyle's Guide 2020 and 2022, and a recommended professional indemnity junior barrister in Doyle's Guide 2021.  Alex is the Victorian editor of the Insurance Law Bulletin, a current member and past president of the Victorian chapter of the Australian Professional Indemnity Group and a former National Committee member.  Alex is a current member of the Building Dispute Practitioners' Society and Melbourne TEC Chambers.  Alex is a past member of the Gordon and Jackson List Committee.

Alex is the Victorian Bar’s nomination to the Victorian Legal Admissions Board and sits on the Practical Legal Training and Admissions Committees.  Alex is an editor for 2022 of the Victorian Bar News.
