Nicholas practises in commercial and public law. He has substantial experience in commercial class actions and a particular interest in competition, consumer protection, media and technology.

His experience at the Bar includes a broad range of commercial matters, including consumer and shareholder class actions, construction, corporations, insolvency, leasing and property.

Before coming to the Bar, Nicholas was an Associate at Phi Finney McDonald, where he practised in consumer, competition and shareholder class actions. During this time, he gained substantial experience in large-scale and complex matters involving the banking and finance sector, and practised across all stages of group litigation, including trial and settlement approval.

Notable recent cases include:

• Yong v Westpac Banking Corporation (shareholder class action for the applicant led by W Harris KC, with L Papaelia, D Fahey and C Wong)
• Dann & Anor v CEO Housing (contract, consumer and racial discrimination class action for the applicants led by E Nekvapil SC, with M Albert, A Edwards, K Brown and J Gracie)
